Social Studies Standard for the week: SS7G2: Students will discuss environmental issues across the continent of Africa - water pollution & distribution, poor soil, deforestation & desertification.
Monday - I was out sick. Students exchanged current events articles and answered each others comprehension questions. Afterwards, students began watching a National Geographic video on animals and the environment in Madagascar. NHW
Tuesday - Students finished the video. Final quiz for this semester will be THIS Friday, December 17th. The quiz will be over the physical geography of Africa (study the phys. geo map and countries).
Wednesday - I handed out an emergency split assignment to students - just in case....Afterwards, I gave them a study guide for Friday's quiz. Students looked over the maps and environmental issues in Africa to help them study. Then we played a game to see which team knew the physical features and countries better.

Thursday - ICE DAY = no school
Friday - Students took a quiz on African geography. NHW
